Minister Named Champions for Change

Based on his ongoing philanthropic work with the Tri-Cities Diaper Bank, which serves Kennewick, Pasco and Richland, Wash., Pastor Eric Shadle has been named as a recipient of the National Diaper Bank Network’s Champions for Change.

Pastor Eric Shadle, formerly of the Seventh-day Adventist church of Richland has been named as a recipient of the National Diaper Bank Network’s Champions for Change.

Pastor Eric Shadle, formerly of the Seventh-day Adventist church of Richland has been named as a recipient of the National Diaper Bank Network’s Champions for Change.

The national award recognizes individuals, groups or organizations that have demonstrated outstanding commitment to advancing awareness of diaper need, and/or supporting an individual diaper bank or the diaper bank community.

The outgoing minister of the Seventh-day Adventist church of Richland, Pastor Eric represents the best of the diaper banking community. His 2012 Ride for Diapers took him from the communities of Richland, Kennewick, and Pasco, across the roadways of America to the streets of the nation’s Capital in Washington D.C. The two-month adventure not only elevated national awareness of diaper need, Pastor Eric’s efforts resulted in donations of more than a half million diapers to the Tri-Cities Diaper Bank, a division of Adventist Community Services and a Washington State nonprofit organization.

The #RealMarchMadness

The pending tipoff of college basketball’s March Madness in a couple of weeks prompted a conversation in the National Diaper Bank Network (NDBN) office today. It got us thinking, when it comes to childhood poverty and meeting the basic needs of all families, what is the real madness we see, not only during March, but every day of every month of the year.

• Despite proven success, the Maternal Infant & Early Childhood Home Visiting program will expire unless Congress acts #RealMarchMadness
