diaper need awareness weekSeptember 25 to October 1, 2017

Get Active!

Want to help address #DiaperNeed in your community and help make more people aware of this hidden consequence of poverty? Doing so shows support for diaper banks and helps get more diapers to more babies who need them to remain clean, dry and healthy.

Here’s a list of things you can do today to help National Diaper Bank Network (NDBN) and local diaper banks throughout the U.S.!

Get Generous!

Host a Virtual Diaper Drive

A virtual diaper drive allows you to activate your social network and challenge your friends to help. These can be set up via crowdfunding websites such as StayClassy.com or GlobalGiving.com. The funds generated help support the work of diaper banks. You can also set up a fundraiser to support NDBN here.

Organize a Diaper Drive

Mobilize your school, organization, church or business and hold a diaper drive to benefit a local diaper bank or agency. Information on  how to hold a diaper drive is located under the “Take Action” button.

Diaper banks have lots of moving parts, and volunteers are needed to make it all work, whether it’s repackaging and inventorying diapers or providing professional expertise. Contact a diaper bank in your community to find out how giving a little bit of your time can make a big difference. Visit nationaldiaperbanknetwork.org to find a diaper bank near you.

Donate to a Diaper Bank

As nonprofit organizations, diaper banks rely on the generosity of the community for financial support.  A directory of local diaper banks is maintained by the National Diaper Bank Network on its website www.nationaldiaperbanknetwork.org.

Get Social!

Use #DiaperNeed in Social Media

Fans of social media—Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and other social platforms—can share experiences and raise online awareness of diaper need by using the hashtag #DiaperNeed.  Follow the National Diaper Bank Network on Twitter (@DiaperNetwork) and Facebook (facebook.com/nationaldiaperbanknetwork) and share NDBN updates with your network.

What Is Diaper Need

The lack of a sufficient supply of diapers to keep an infant or toddler clean, dry and healthy.

Diaper Need Awareness Week is an initiative of the National Diaper Bank Network (NDBN) created to mobilize efforts to help make a difference in the lives of the nearly 5.2 million babies in the U.S. aged three or younger who live in poor or low-income families.

Acting together — individuals, diaper banks, faith-based institutions, service providers, businesses, organizations and elected officials — we can get diapers to all babies in need.

  • Inform your elected officials
  • Increase awareness within your state & community
  • Promote opportunities for you to talk and help raise diapers & dollars
  • Champion change led by you, diaper bankers, and our supporters

"I recently had a baby girl. She is 3 months old. I also have two other daughters 5 and 9. I raise them all on my own and have recently been diagnosed with a seizure disorder... I can only work part time light duty. Needless to say things have gotten extremely hard in the past 3 months. I really need some extra help in any way possible especially with diapers, wipes and clothes until I can get back on my feet. "
