Jill Eid developed her passion for strengthening community through her year of service with AmeriCorps NCCC. Fresh out of Stonehill College, and wanting a year “off” before heading back to school for her master’s degree in Psychology, Jill worked as Team Leader for AmeriCorps NCCC’s South West region. While managing a team of ten 18-24 year olds, Jill was immersed in and exposed to the incredible inequities of deep rural poverty. What inspired Jill was the powerful combination of an engaged local community, the infusion of resources, and committed young people, had on the ability to revitalize and lift up community. From that point on, Jill was hooked on the transformational capacities of volunteer service. Currently, Jill serves as the Associate Director for Growth & Strategy at Cradles to Crayons, a national nonprofit, focused on providing kids with the essential items they need to thrive. With an expertise in creating meaningful volunteer experiences, Cradles to Crayons has engaged more than 300,000 volunteers through their Boston, Philadelphia, and Chicago locations. During Jill’s five years with Cradles to Crayons she has had the opportunity to engage in many parts of the business, most notably leading the launch of the organization’s third market, Chicago. Jill remains focused on Cradles to Crayons’ national expansion strategy, as well as developing new and innovative organizational strategies.
