U.S. Conference on Poverty and Basic Needs 2025

Call for Abstracts

The National Diaper Bank Network and the Alliance for Period Supplies are now accepting abstract submissions for oral presentation at the 14th annual U.S. Conference on Poverty and Basic Needs (CPBN) in Las Vegas, NV, October 21 – 23, 2025.

Conference attendees include basic needs bank members, nonprofit leaders, practitioners, researchers, legislators, advocates, and other professionals working to ensure all children, families, and individuals can access the basic materials they need to live healthy and successful lives.

Authors are encouraged to submit proposals on current and emerging topics related to poverty and access to material basic needs. Priority selection will be given to abstracts that include the topics of diaper insecurity or period product insecurity.

This event will be an in-person conference. Presenters will be required to pay for registration and attend the meeting in person. 

Those selected to present will receive a $100 discount off the registration rate for the 3-day event. Please note, the discount only applies to the three-day registration fee.

Abstracts may include the traditional headings of ‘Background, Methods, Results, Discussion’ but must also include a heading for ‘Implications for practice’ or ‘Implications for policy.’

Abstracts will be submitted via this link. The abstract submission form will require the following information:

  • Presenting author(s) name
  • Email
  • Institution / Organization
  • Title
  • Presentation Title (Limit of 15 words)
  • Brief summary (to be used to describe your session in the program). Please be succinct, using no more than four sentences.
  • Abstract (Limit of 300 words)

Abstract Submission Deadline — May 30, 2025.

Abstract Notification — Presenters will be notified via email of abstract status by June 20, 2025.
