No child should be without the diapers needed to be clean, dry, and healthy. Together we can make a difference for those who are unable to afford this basic need. Join us in the fight against diaper need in one or more of the ways below.
Host a Diaper Drive
We have the tools to show you how to host a diaper drive. It’s a great way to help fight diaper need in your community.
Watch the video below to learn more about hosting a diaper drive for your local diaper bank, start by watching the video below. Then, if you’d like to host a virtual diaper drive for NDBN, start here.
Now, more than ever, we need volunteers.
Over half of all diaper bank programs rely entirely on volunteer activity. Diaper banks in the National Diaper Bank Network come in many different sizes – but regardless of size, they can always use a helping hand. Spending a few hours sorting, packing or wrapping diapers and other basic need items can make a huge difference for your local program and the families they serve.
There are so many ways you can volunteer your time and expertise to a diaper bank. Got a knack for graphic design? Create some flyers for an upcoming diaper drive or update their logo. Social media savvy? Help your local program get the attention it deserves online by creating or updating their social media channels. Good with numbers? We have volunteers who have offered their accounting services to programs in need as well.
Hosting diaper wrapping events or diaper drives are also great options for work related team building exercises.
All basic needs banks need the support of community volunteers. Our new volunteer platform makes it easy for you to identify opportunities and sign up for activities and events in local communities, just click on the link below to begin your search. Volunteering is a great way for you, your friends and family, or a group to make a meaningful difference. More volunteer opportunities from more programs are being added each week, so please check back on ways you can help!

Ways to give
NDBN believes that every little action gets bigger when you put them together. That’s why we do whatever it takes – every day and in times of crisis – to ensure babies grow up happy and healthy. Especially those hardest to reach. But we can’t do it without you! There are so many ways to give, choose the way that works best for you.

Extend Your Reach
Hashtags, posts and tweets may not always do the job when we need to lobby politicians, but they have helped to inform and mobilize large numbers of people.
Awareness is the first step for mobilization, and little actions do matter when it comes to raising it. Most social media platforms, like Twitter and Facebook, have algorithms that track, follow, and promote the most popular — “trending” — hashtags, bringing pressing social matters to the spotlight.
That is why we encourage you to use the hashtags #DiaperNeed, #EndDiaperNeed and #BasicsArentBasic when discussing our issues on social media.
Tell a Visual Story
Many of our supporters are people that have experienced diaper need at some point in their lives, or can empathize with the financial, mental, and emotional strain it puts on families. Sharing personal anecdotes is an impactful way to spark a conversation about the importance of basic needs on social media. You can also talk about facts on diaper need that many people are unaware of — like how one in three families currently experience diaper need right here in the United States.
They say a picture is worth 1,000 words — and this holds especially true on social networks like Facebook and Instagram. The attention span of online audiences is waning every day. So it is crucial you get your point across as quickly and concisely as possible. Photos and graphics are an easy way to accomplish this. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter and use our graphics and videos to make a larger impact!
Partnership and Collaboration
For any given cause there are several organizations that serve a similar purpose. Seeking out groups and organizations with similar causes will enable you to increase overall knowledge of diaper need and to leverage one other’s social networks.
Keep in mind collaborations don’t necessarily need to be done on a large scale. On the contrary, more accessible groups like your local parenting facebook group are great places to start. Educate others on diaper need and its consequences. Encourage your friends and family to talk about it as well. Virtual fundraisers are an excellent way to raise awareness and funds at the same time!
Celebrity and Influencer Endorsements
Easier said than done, but tagging a celebrity, even a local one to raise awareness of diaper need can be far reaching. A post associated with a high profile account will always have higher reach and can attract attention outside of your network. Many of our supporters have had luck tagging their local news anchors and reporters and garnering support that way as well, leading to state wide diaper drives.
