How did you get here today?<\/em> Government assistance and\/or low-wage jobs are often insufficient to meet the basic needs of a family or an individual. When people cannot afford things like hygiene products or transportation, their lives are disrupted in many ways.<\/p>\n The first-ever Basic Needs-Informed Curriculum is designed to expand the mindset of professionals by coaching participants to address the gaps in basic needs, and other poverty-related issues, in their agency assessments, patient\/client intakes, teaching strategies and\/or delivery of medical care to children and families living in poverty.<\/p>\n Basic needs-informed care can result in a more equitable, effective and efficient delivery of services and supports.<\/strong><\/p>\n Applying basic needs-informed questions to problems often shows that the root cause is simpler than we realize. This enables you to focus on strategies that help people achieve better outcomes.<\/p>\n The Basic Needs-Informed Curriculum is for social service, educational and health care professionals who serve families and children who are poor and low-income.<\/p>\n \u2022 Social Workers Sign up for the virtual training.<\/a><\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.24.2″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ global_colors_info=”{}” sticky_enabled=”0″]<\/p>\n Due to demand around the U.S., we now offer the Basic Needs-Informed Care Curriculum online, quarterly for individuals who are not signing up as part of a workplace or school group.<\/p>\n From the convenience of your own device, you\u2019ll be able to interact and ask questions in real time from a trainer with extensive experience in research, advocacy and direct service on behalf of families in poverty.<\/p>\n Tickets are $35. Each participant receives a copy of\u00a0Broke in America: Seeing, Understanding, and Ending U.S. Poverty,<\/a> an award-winning book that will help you move your own organization and your own thinking forward long after the training is finished.<\/p>\n Our next training will be Tuesday, June 4th, 2024 at 2 pm EST \/ 11 am PST.\u00a0Sign up for a training.<\/a><\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.23.1″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n The Basic Needs-Informed Care Curriculum is delivered by a cadre of trainers with extensive experience in research, advocacy and direct service on behalf of families in poverty.<\/p>\n Sessions run from 1 to 3 hours.<\/p>\n In a smaller group, the curriculum is delivered in an interactive, workshop format. For groups of 40 or more, the session will be in lecture format.<\/p>\n Honorariums depend upon group size and travel time and start at $750, plus travel expenses.<\/p>\n Each participant receives a copy of Broke in America: Seeing, Understanding, and Ending U.S. Poverty<\/a>,<\/span> an award-winning book that will help you move your own organization and your own thinking forward long after the training is finished.<\/p>\n In person trainings can be combined with other organizational consulting.<\/p>\n
